The Design Institute of Australia (SA Branch) is proud to announce the JamFactory's chief executive officer and creative director Brian Parkes as a guest speaker at its upcoming Snap, Crackle & Speak breakfast.
Brian took the position in April 2010 after spending ten years as associate director and senior curator at Sydney's Object: Australian Centre for Craft and Design. There, he curated several exhibitions, including the landmark survey of contemporary Australian design Freestyle: new Australian design for living.
The Jamfactory's metal design studio's creative director Christian Hall will be alongside Brian at the breakfast. Completing a Master of Visual Arts at Syndey College of Arts, University of Sydney in 2003, his work featured in By Example, Australian Contemporary Jewellery at The Museum of Arts and Crafts in Itami, Japan last year.
The JamFactory is a non-for-profit organisation supporting outstanding design and craftsmanship in South Australia through its studio spaces, galleries and shops for almost 40 years.
Snap, Crackle & Speak is on Thursday, July 21 at Caffé Amore, 162 - 170 Pulteney Street Adelaide at 7.15am.
